Visits to the experimental fields of the SOiLUTION and BIO2 projects

Today, June 18th 2018, the event “Visits of the experimental fields of SOiLUTION and BIO2 projects” was held at Compiano (PR).

Mario Marini, chef and owner of Azienda Agricola-Vitivinicola Biologica and Agriturismo “Il cielo di Strela”, partner of SOiLUTION, made and offered us a breakfast with delicious cakes made with the flour of the Bio2 project. Afterwards, Antonio Rossetti introduced the project; Agronomist Cristina Piazza (Azienda Agraria Sperimentale Stuard) and Doct. Agronomist Marco Errani presented the results of the field trials carried out with the aim to introduce and adapt conservation agriculture practices (including cover crops) on farms located in hilly and mountain areas.
Lastly, Prof. Giacomo Zanni ( Consorzio Futuro in Ricerca (CFR)), illustrated the aims and objectives of action 3 of the project: to carry out a multi-criteria analysis of the results in order to assess the benefits achieved through the adoption of conservation agriculture practices.

After the presentation of the Bio2 project, we visited the experimental fields of “Il cielo di Strela” farm, and the small and big plots of the Bio2 project at “Angus” farm; finally, the owner Luca Marcora offered us a delicious lunch at his farmhouse “Le Carovane”.
