“AlimentiAMO la sostenibilità” Project. Network for the promotion of food education

The 15-months project (Call: PSR 2014-2020, Operation Type: 16.9.02) aims to establish a network of farms to improve food education initiatives for citizens.

The project involves Azienda Agraria Sperimentale Stuard as coordinator, Manghi Armanda beekeeping farm, Azienda Agricola Gavinell, Il Gelso Azienda Agricola and Azienda Agricola Luca Sichel Turco.

For each farm, the collaboration and consultancy of Madegus will be offered for the evaluation of shortcomings, opportunities and possibilities in the field of food and nutrition education, on the basis of the target of consumer each farm is interested in (children, adults, grandparents and grandchildren).

In the first workshop carried out by the farm and intended for the target audience, Madegus will provide support, suggestions and advice; a scientific show-cooking will translate the educational topics into recipes. A website will be available online soon, to promote the farms network and food education.

The communication and promotion objectives aim at favoring the diffusion of a relationships network that give visibility to local agriculture, improve the economic performance of and enhance its profitability.

Moreover, the project involves the partnership of local institutions to promote schools and associations participation in the Plan didactical activities (Comune di Parma – Department of School and Educational Services, Comune di Neviano degli Arduini, Comune di Collecchio, Comune di Traversetolo, Università Popolare), ONLUS and voluntary associations that promote its members participation, ethical and social sustainability (Progetto ITACA Parma, Associazione volontari per la salute mentale– ONLUS), of local institutions for the promotion of food education activities aimed at biodiversity and rural promotion (Ente di Gestione per i Parchi e la Biodiversità dell’Emilia Occidentale, Agriform Soc. Con. a r.l.).
